Description

New jobs are tough — especially when your new employer is the CIA. Annie Walker (Piper Perabo) is fluent in six languages, has traveled the world and is besting her fellow CIA trainees in every test. But that doesn't explain why she's suddenly summoned by CIA headquarters to report for active duty as a field operative one month before her training is over. She doesn't know there may be something, or someone, from her past her CIA bosses are really after. Christopher Gorham plays Auggie Anderson, a CIA military intelligence agent, blinded while on assignment, and Annie's guide in this world of bureaucracy, excitement and intrigue. Peter Gallagher plays Arthur, the formidable Director of Clandestine Services for the CIA. Anne Dudek plays a married mother of two and is Annie’s older sister and Kari Matchett plays Joan, head of the CIA’s Domestic Protection Division who happens to be married to Arthur.

Watched season one I really like it so far but I do notice the it is a lot like the show that was on NBC Chuck that I loved it does have a little less quirky but still pretty good...

The lead is very pretty, sorry to admit but a cutie can still make me watch a mediocre show. The rest of the cast are lame. The bickering between the CIA tops seemed forced and pointless. But the show's scenery is worth watching ,I live in metro DC. Overall not bad, just stick to the lead and action. keep away from domestic subplots. Oh ,more high heels! And no more "get down on you knees"so I can kill you scenes ,unless of course on her knees is for the other reason !

It is good…not great but good. It has potential though. The story line is working but the lead actress doesn't work for me. But then I wasn't a fan of Alias either which was a HUGE hit with the public.

This show is great and should have more time each season. Just when you get into the season they break for a few weeks or months. Great acting especially on Annie's part and Oggie, something should flourish between them as they have chemistry.
  • Bad

The creators of the show can't even do a primitive research on things. That supposedly Russian language they were speaking with Stas was actually Polish. Stopped watching right after that. If they can't do this simple thing right, there's no way they can do harder stuff any better.
  • Hated it

Apparently, if you are hot, you can be an idiot, and nothing will ever go badly... even when they inevitably go wrong. Also, if you have an ADA sidekick on bluetooth, that'll help overcome the unprofessional and incompetent leadership of the CIA. Couldn't handle this stupidity any more. The few good spots are annihilated by the stereotyping and formula action and acting. The only decent parts are the portrayal of the difficulty dealing with family and friends not involved in your profession. I hated this show so much I was compelled to write this..

Season 2 Premiere of "Covert Affairs" is scheduled for June 7th, 2 days from now!! Where is the season Pass? Blue Collar season 3 is scheduled to premiere on same day and the season pass is already available. Is itune not making covert affairs season 2 available for download??!!! That would be a shame......

At least this show seems realistic, and while it's hot, it's also compelling. It is essentially a new look to the CIA post 911. It has a less bureaucratic hierarchy than in times past, and people get recognition for their achievements. Plenty of token actors throughout, as long as they add to the story so be it, blind is good, too.
